Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that Muslims in the state are safest when Hindus are safe, emphasizing communal harmony since 2017. In an interview with ANI, he highlighted Hindu tolerance, saying a Muslim family would feel secure among 100 Hindu families but questioned whether the same applies in reverse, citing Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan as examples.

Adityanath dismissed claims that the BJP aims to take over Masjids, arguing that Waqf properties have been misused for personal gain and should be freed from encroachment. Supporting the Waqf Amendment, he stressed its importance for national and Muslim community welfare.
