Massoud Pezeshkian Open Letter to Americans
Tehran, Iran: Iran’s President Massoud Pezeshkian has issued an open letter addressed directly to the American public, questioning the underlying motives and benefits of the ongoing tensions involving the United States and Israel.
In his message, Pezeshkian urged American citizens to critically examine whose interests are truly being served by the conflict. He emphasized that Iran holds no hostility toward the people of the United States or other nations and called for a broader understanding beyond what he described as distorted narratives.
“We have no enmity with the American people,” the President stated, adding that Iran has historically avoided initiating war despite facing sustained pressure and sanctions from the United States. He asserted that Iran remains firm in defending itself against external attacks.
Pezeshkian also raised concerns about the humanitarian consequences of military actions, pointing to civilian casualties, including children, and the destruction of critical infrastructure such as medical facilities. He questioned whether such actions serve any constructive purpose or merely contribute to further damage to America’s global image.
Referring to the “America First” doctrine associated with Donald Trump, he argued that current policies appear inconsistent with prioritizing the interests of American citizens.
The Iranian President concluded by reaffirming Iran’s right to defend its sovereignty against what he described as joint actions involving the United States and Israel, while appealing for greater awareness and reflection among the American public.
