UP CM Yogi Adityanath termed Jamaluddin alias Chhangur Baba’s alleged religious conversion activities as anti-social and anti-national, promising strict legal action, including property seizure.

Jamaluddin and aide Nasreen were arrested by the UP ATS for targeting girls and keeping a “rate list” for conversions. A court issued a non-bailable warrant, and a ₹50,000 reward was offered.

State Women Commission chief Babita Chauhan called it a planned conspiracy and demanded the death penalty, urging society to unite against forced conversions.
