ICC Player of the Month: Sahibzada Farhan, Arundhati Reddy Shine

Sahibzada Farhan and Arundhati Reddy ICC Player of the Month February 2026

Pakistan’s young opening batter Sahibzada Farhan has been honoured with the ICC Player of the Month award for February following his exceptional performance in the recently concluded ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

Farhan delivered a remarkable campaign despite Pakistan failing to reach the semi-finals. The young opener featured in all matches except the high-profile clash against India and made a significant impact with the bat. He scored two centuries during the tournament, one each against Namibia and Sri Lanka, becoming the first player in T20 World Cup history to register two centuries in a single edition.

He finished the tournament with a total of 383 runs, setting a new record for the highest runs scored in a single edition of the T20 World Cup, surpassing the previous record held by Virat Kohli. Farhan outperformed England’s Will Jacks and USA pacer Shadley van Schalkwyk to secure the award.

With this achievement, Farhan joins an elite list of Pakistani cricketers who have received ICC monthly honours, including Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Noman Ali, and Hasan Ali. Notably, Babar Azam has won the award three times.

In the women’s category, India’s Arundhati Reddy was named ICC Player of the Month for her impressive performances in the T20I series against Australia. The right-arm seamer claimed a total of eight wickets in the three-match series and played a crucial role in India’s 2-1 series victory.

Reddy finished the series with an outstanding average of 10.87 and maintained an economy rate of 7.25, making her the leading wicket-taker of the series. She was shortlisted alongside Sri Lanka’s Harshitha Samarawickrama and Pakistan’s Fatima Sana, but ultimately emerged as the winner.
