Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, India: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu stated on December 16 that the state continues to be a significant contributor to strengthening relations between India and the United States.

U.S. Consul General in Hyderabad, Laura Williams, paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Naidu, during which both leaders held detailed discussions on strengthening cooperation in areas such as trade, investments, education, innovation, and bilateral people-to-people engagement.

Sharing details of the meeting on social media platform X, Chief Minister Naidu said he was pleased to interact with Consul General Laura Williams and explore opportunities to deepen the long-standing strategic partnership with the United States. He noted that Andhra Pradesh’s robust business environment and strong Telugu diaspora in the U.S. position the state as a dependable and forward-looking partner for American enterprises and academic institutions.

The U.S. Consul General also held a separate discussion with Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan at the camp office. According to official sources, multiple topics of mutual interest were addressed during this meeting.

In another update shared on X, Chief Minister Naidu highlighted the state government’s commitment to developing a comprehensive healthcare system that ensures affordable, accessible, and high-quality medical services for all citizens of Andhra Pradesh.

He mentioned that he recently held a constructive review meeting with the High-Level Expert Advisory Group (HLEAG) and representatives from the Gates Foundation to assess major healthcare initiatives. The discussion primarily focused on the Sanjeevani programme and measures to further strengthen public healthcare infrastructure across the state. The Chief Minister expressed his appreciation to Dr. Archana Vyas, Country Director of the Gates Foundation, and members of the advisory group for their expert guidance.

As per an official statement, Chief Minister Naidu revealed that digital health records developed under the Sanjeevani initiative—currently being implemented on a pilot basis in Kuppam, Chittoor district, with support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation—will soon be expanded statewide.

The 10-member HLEAG, which includes leading national and international medical professionals, participated in the meeting virtually.

Emphasizing the importance of technology-driven preventive healthcare, the Chief Minister urged the expert panel to showcase Andhra Pradesh’s advanced healthcare and medical systems at the upcoming Global AI Convention in Mumbai.

He further stated that the digitization of health records for the entire population is expected to be completed within a year, with special attention directed toward addressing the state’s top ten health concerns. Referring to the success of the Mustabu programme aimed at improving personal hygiene among tribal students, Chief Minister Naidu said the NDA government is steadily working toward the vision of a Healthy, Wealthy, and Happy Andhra Pradesh.
