ATA, IIT Hyderabad Ink MoU Internships

Hyderabad, Telangana: In a significant step to strengthen academic and cultural ties, the American Telugu Association (ATA) has entered into a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad.

The agreement, signed by ATA President Jayant Challa and IIT Hyderabad Director Prof. B.S. Murthy during a ceremony in Washington D.C., aims to provide internship opportunities for students from the Telugu diaspora at the IIT Hyderabad campus.

IIT Hyderabad, ranked 7th in engineering and 6th in innovation in India, will open its doors for year-long internships under this initiative. The collaboration will be valid for three years, enabling students to gain hands-on exposure in cutting-edge research and technological innovation.

Prof. Murthy highlighted the uniqueness of this partnership, noting that it marks the first time IIT Hyderabad has signed an MoU with an overseas-based association. He added that the institute will extend accommodation and other facilities to eligible students at a nominal cost.

This collaboration is expected to give young talents a deeper understanding of global technological advancements while promoting research-oriented education.
