Cyclone Dana: Cyclone Dana is set to make landfall near Odisha on Friday morning, with wind speeds up to 120 km/h and heavy rainfall expected in West Bengal and Odisha. Heavy rain has already begun in West Bengal. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts landfall between Bhitarkanika National Park and Dhamra Port, with gusts reaching 120 km/h.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is deployed in South Bengal, and essential staff in Kolkata have had their leaves canceled. Flight operations at Kolkata airport will be suspended from 6 PM Thursday until 9 AM Friday, and over 170 trains have been canceled. Schools in affected areas are closed.

Odisha's Chief Minister reported that over 30% of the targeted 1 million evacuees have been moved to safety, with food and shelter arrangements in place. Great danger signals are issued at three Odisha ports due to severe weather conditions.
