Tamil Nadu’s political landscape has intensified following remarks made by Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader Adhav Arjuna, which drew a strong response from actor Rajinikanth.

With the announcement of the Tamil Nadu Assembly election schedule, political activity in the state has gained momentum. Actor Vijay is preparing to contest the elections through his party, TVK, marking its first major electoral entry. As part of this, the party has been actively targeting the ruling DMK.

Recently, TVK General Secretary Adhav Arjuna alleged that Rajinikanth had previously withdrawn from political entry due to pressure from the DMK. He further asserted that Vijay would firmly confront the ruling party. These comments, however, sparked criticism from leaders across various political parties, who stated that invoking Rajinikanth’s name for political advantage was inappropriate.

Responding to the controversy, Rajinikanth issued a public statement expressing his disapproval of the remarks. In his message, he condemned the derogatory comments made against him and extended his gratitude to several political leaders and public figures who voiced their support.

He specifically thanked Leader of the Opposition Edappadi K. Palaniswami, Tamil Nadu BJP President Nainar Nagendran, Union Minister L. Murugan, Minister Raghupathi, BJP leader K. Annamalai, and others, along with members of the film industry, media professionals, and his fans.

In his concluding remarks, Rajinikanth stated that “time does not speak, but when the time comes, it will,” indicating a measured yet firm stance on the issue.

Following the release of this statement, political observers note that Vijay’s party appears to be facing increased isolation. Rajinikanth’s supporters across the state have reacted strongly, with posters emerging in cities like Madurai expressing solidarity with the actor and criticism of TVK leaders.
