Panama City: A major explosion involving a fuel tanker near the Panama Canal triggered panic after a large fire broke out close to the Bridge of the Americas at the canal’s Pacific entrance.

According to initial reports, the fire originated in a fuel tanker and rapidly escalated into a powerful explosion. Dramatic visuals circulating on social media captured flames spreading intensely near the bridge as vehicles continued moving in the vicinity, prompting several people to flee the area in fear.

Authorities confirmed that at least four individuals were injured in the incident, including two civilians and two firefighters. One person has been reported missing, raising concerns among emergency responders.
