Iran vs US: Tehran Rejects Trump Hormuz Deadline, Vows Continued Attacks

Iran US tensions escalate over Strait of Hormuz amid Trump warning

Tehran: Tensions between Iran and the United States continue to escalate as both nations exchange sharp warnings over the situation in the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran has firmly rejected recent statements made by Donald Trump, who warned that Tehran could face severe consequences if an agreement is not reached within the stipulated deadline regarding maritime security in the region.

A spokesperson for Iran’s military command stated that the country would not be intimidated by what it described as “baseless threats.” The official added that such warnings reflect the United States’ strategic setbacks in West Asia and asserted that Iran’s military operations would continue without interruption.

According to Iranian military sources, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) navy reportedly targeted an Israeli-linked container vessel, resulting in its destruction and a major fire. Additionally, ballistic missile strikes were claimed on key locations in Israeli cities including Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Beersheba.

Reports also indicated that a US naval vessel, identified as LHA-7, was attacked and forced to withdraw from the operational zone. Furthermore, alleged strikes were carried out on US military bases in Kuwait and command centers in Baghdad.

Iran has reiterated that it will not agree to a ceasefire, rejecting mediation proposals. Officials also criticized conditions set by the United States for de-escalation, calling them unacceptable.

Meanwhile, Trump maintained a firm stance, stating that deadlines would not be extended and warning of potential strikes on Iran’s infrastructure. He also claimed successful rescue operations involving US military personnel during recent engagements.

With both sides refusing to back down, concerns are growing over a broader regional escalation in West Asia.
