Sriharikota: The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is ready for another rocket launch. Scientists are engaged in preparations for the launch of GSLV-F14 at 5.35 pm on Saturday from Satish Dhawan Space Center Shaar (Sriharikota) in Tirupati district. The countdown to the launch started at 2.05 pm on Friday. After a continuous 27.30 hours, GSLV-F14 will blast off from the second launch pad at Shaar to Ningoli. ISRO chief Dr. Somnath reached Shaar on Thursday at midnight and gave instructions to the scientists while supervising the countdown process. The GSLV will launch the 2,275 kg INSAT-3DS satellite into the fixed orbit. This satellite is designed to improve weather observations, and monitor land and ocean surfaces. This will improve weather forecasting and disaster warning systems. It will work with Insat-3D and Insat-3DR satellites currently in orbit.
