New Delhi: The Central Government has reassured citizens that there is no shortage of gas in the country and urged people not to panic over reports of possible supply disruptions.

Officials said India currently has sufficient natural gas reserves to meet domestic consumption needs. The clarification comes amid concerns among the public regarding potential shortages caused by ongoing global conflicts affecting energy supply chains.

Sources in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas stated that the government is actively working to address supply disruptions caused by the war through alternative procurement channels.

As part of these efforts, domestic oil and gas production has been increased by approximately 25 percent to stabilize the supply and ensure uninterrupted availability for households and industries.

In addition, the government has secured two consignments of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to strengthen supply levels. According to Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary in the Ministry handling LNG affairs, the shipments are expected to arrive in India within the next two days.

Officials emphasized that these measures are aimed at maintaining energy security and ensuring that households continue to receive adequate gas supplies without disruption.
