A rare golden frog in the Chittoor district Identified in Palamaneru forest

This frog, known as the golden-backed frog (Hyla rana gracilis), was found near Gounithimmepalli village in the Kaundinya forest area. Noted for its golden-colored back, it is commonly found in Sri Lanka. So far, 19 species of golden-backed frogs have been identified in India, primarily inhabiting wetlands, agricultural land, and grasslands. This discovery was made by researchers from the Geological Survey of India and the Andhra Pradesh Biodiversity Board.
