Amazon Layoffs 2026: Company May Cut 14,000 Jobs Across Key Divisions

Amazon layoffs 2026 employees job cuts AWS retail HR

Seattle: E-commerce giant Amazon is reportedly preparing for another round of significant workforce reductions, with approximately 14,000 employees expected to be laid off next month, according to a report by Asia Business Outlook.

The anticipated layoffs, likely to take place in May, are expected to impact several key divisions, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), retail operations, and human resources. However, the company has not yet issued an official statement confirming these developments.

If implemented, the latest round of job cuts would add to Amazon’s ongoing restructuring efforts. Earlier in January this year, the company reportedly laid off around 16,000 employees as part of cost-cutting measures.

The reported move comes amid a broader trend of workforce reductions across the global technology sector. Major firms such as Oracle, Microsoft, Tata Consultancy Services, and Accenture have also announced significant layoffs in recent months. Meanwhile, Meta is reportedly planning to reduce its workforce by approximately 15,000 employees.

Industry analysts suggest that these measures reflect continued cost optimization efforts and shifting business priorities amid uncertain global economic conditions.
