India has officially responded to the recent ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, welcoming the development as a positive step toward restoring stability in West Asia.

In a statement shared on X, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) expressed hope that the ceasefire would pave the way for lasting peace in the region. The government reiterated its consistent stance that ongoing conflicts can only be resolved through de-escalation, sustained dialogue, and diplomatic engagement.

The MEA highlighted the significant human and economic toll caused by the prolonged tensions, noting that people in the region have endured considerable hardship over the past several weeks.
