EC Allots ‘Whistle’ Symbol to Vijay’s TVK Ahead of 2026 Tamil Nadu Polls

Vijay TVK whistle symbol

Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has officially allotted an election symbol to actor-turned-politician Vijay’s political outfit, the Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK). The Commission on Thursday announced that the party has been assigned the ‘whistle’ symbol.

The Election Commission of India has granted the ‘whistle’ symbol to Tamil star Vijay’s Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam party. With this allocation, TVK will contest the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections under the newly assigned symbol. The decision has sparked enthusiasm among Vijay’s supporters and party workers across the state.

Party Activities Gain Momentum

Vijay is gearing up for his electoral debut, with party activities gathering pace in recent weeks. The first meeting of TVK’s election campaign committee was held in Chennai earlier this week. Party sources indicate that the manifesto is being drafted with a strong focus on social justice, transparency, and governance reforms.

The Tamil Nadu Assembly elections are expected to take place between April and May 2026, prompting political parties to intensify preparations. While the AIADMK has already launched its campaign initiatives, TVK is reportedly considering contesting the elections independently, without forming alliances with major political parties.

Political observers, however, suggest that forging alliances could enhance the party’s electoral prospects, particularly in its first major electoral contest.
