Hyderabad Student Missing in Finland for 45 Days, Search Continues

Telangana Student Manideep Reddy Missing in Finland

Hyderabad, Telangana, India: A student from Telangana studying in Finland has been missing for more than 45 days, leaving his family in deep distress. The student's parents have appealed to the Central and State Governments to intensify efforts to locate their son and ensure his safe return.

The missing student has been identified as Manideep Reddy, a resident of Vaidehi Nagar in Vanasthalipuram, Hyderabad. He had travelled to Finland for higher education and is pursuing the first year of his BTech course at LUT University.

According to family members, Manideep last spoke with them on May 4. Since then, all attempts to contact him have been unsuccessful. Concerned relatives and friends in Finland reportedly checked his accommodation and contacted the university, but no information regarding his whereabouts was found.

A missing person case has been registered, and an investigation is currently underway. However, despite the passage of 45 days, there has been no breakthrough in tracing the student. The family claims that they have not received any concrete information from Finnish authorities or government agencies regarding his whereabouts.

Meanwhile, Manideep's parents continue to urge authorities to take immediate action and strengthen efforts to locate their son.

Telangana High Court Seeks Explanation

The matter has also reached the Telangana High Court. Hearing a petition filed by Manideep's parents, Justice B. Vijay Sen Reddy directed the Central Government to provide details regarding the steps taken in the case.

The court issued notices to the Indian Embassy in Finland, Telangana Police, and other concerned authorities, seeking a response on the action taken following the family's complaint.

Counsel representing the petitioners informed the court that Manideep had last spoken to his mother in early May and that all subsequent attempts to reach him had failed. The Central Government's counsel stated that a police case had been registered and that the investigation was ongoing.

After hearing submissions from both sides, the High Court adjourned the matter for further hearing.
