Ibomma Telugu Movies Piracy: Cyber Crime Police Arrest 4
HYDERABAD, TS, INDIA: The Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police are intensifying their investigation into a film and OTT piracy case involving the popular Ibomma Telugu Movies platform. Authorities have arrested the primary suspects involved in server hacking, in addition to those recently caught recording films in theatres.
During the investigation, the organizers behind the piracy site openly challenged law enforcement. In response, the cyber crime team arrested four individuals linked to the website. Further inquiry revealed that the site had agents operating in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
The probe has been accelerated due to the growing threat posed by iDoll, which has been repeatedly stealing and distributing OTT content. A Telugu-language advertisement from the piracy website has also gone viral on social media. iDoll claimed that films are being excessively budgeted and that the cost burden ultimately falls on audiences, particularly the middle class.
Authorities have emphasized the need to monitor websites that record films in theatres and illegally release prints online. Officials also highlighted their commitment to protecting Indian films and Telugu content, regardless of where audiences or operators are located.
