India's New Agni Prime Ballistic Missile Test Successfully

India's indigenously developed new generation 'Agni Prime' ballistic missile has been test-fired successfully. The Indian Army successfully test-fired the Agni Prime missile in collaboration with the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and the Strategic Forces Command (SFC). The Defense Department announced that the missile was test-fired from APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha on Wednesday night.
Agniprime revealed that it has met all the targets set. This missile can carry nuclear warheads. It was developed domestically under the Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme. It is a medium-range missile. Its strike range is 1,000 km to 2,000 km. Agniprime is unique in hitting targets with high precision. It can carry a warhead of 1,500 to 3,000 kg. Weight is about 11,000 kg. This is the sixth missile in the Agni missile series. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh expressed happiness over the success of the Agniprime test.
