Incident Overview
On the night of November 13, 2024, violence erupted in Samravata village, Tonk district, Rajasthan, following a confrontation between supporters of independent MLA candidate Naresh Meena and the police. Over 100 vehicles, including two-wheelers and four-wheelers, were set on fire during the chaos.
Cause of Violence
The unrest began after Meena, who was contesting the Deval Uniyara seat, accused election officials of rigging the vote and claimed his EVM mark was unclear. Tensions escalated when Meena allegedly slapped ACDM Amit Chaudhary at the polling booth, leading to his arrest.

In response to the stone-pelting and violence, the police deployed gas shells and fired about 100 rounds in the air. Sixty supporters of Meena were detained, and four cases were registered against him at Nagarkot Police Station. Several villagers were injured in the clashes.

The violence occurred during voting for seven assembly seats in Rajasthan. Results for these seats will be announced on November 23, 2024.
