UAE Drone Attack: India Condemns Strike, Three Indians Injured in Fujairah

UAE drone attack at Fujairah oil facility injures Indian workers

India has strongly condemned the recent drone attack targeting the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone (FOIZ) in the United Arab Emirates, expressing deep concern over the safety of civilians, including Indian nationals. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) described the incident as unacceptable and urged immediate measures to halt escalating violence in the region.

The attack occurred on Monday, triggering a significant fire at the oil facility. Three Indian workers sustained injuries and were promptly shifted to a hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment. The Embassy of India in the UAE is closely coordinating with local authorities to monitor their condition and ensure necessary support.

According to the UAE Ministry of Defence, a total of four missiles were launched during the incident. While three were successfully intercepted by the country’s air defense systems, one missile fell into the sea. Authorities have urged the public to remain calm and rely only on verified official information amid rising tensions.

In its official statement, the MEA emphasized that targeting civilian infrastructure and non-combatants is deeply concerning. India reiterated that ongoing tensions in West Asia must be resolved through diplomatic dialogue and peaceful means. It also highlighted the importance of ensuring uninterrupted navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical route for global trade, and called for enhanced international cooperation on maritime security.

Security has been tightened across oil facilities and industrial zones in Gulf countries following the attack. Meanwhile, global human rights organizations have demanded accountability, urging that those responsible for the attack be identified and brought to justice.
