The movie features Pooja Hegde as the female lead and includes Mamita Baiju in an important role. Bollywood actor Bobby Deol also appears in a key role. Backed by KVN Pictures with a massive budget, the film is written and directed by H Vinod and is scheduled for a theatrical release on January 9, 2026.

Jananayakan is expected to be Vijay’s final film project before he fully steps into politics. He is currently preparing to contest the 2026 Assembly elections after launching his political party, Tamilaga Vetrikazhagam.

Speculation suggests that Jananayakan has been designed to support Vijay’s political ambitions. Reports indicate that the storyline will highlight present-day political themes. In this context, the film’s audio launch has been planned as a large-scale event in Malaysia on the 27th of this month, instead of the usual Chennai venue.

Many well-known film personalities from Chennai are traveling to Malaysia to attend the Jananayakan audio launch. Directors Atlee and Nelson are among those who have already reached the venue. Vijay himself arrived in Malaysia from Chennai on a special flight, accompanied by his mother Shobha Chandrasekhar and his cousin Pallavi Vinod.

Vijay’s wife Sangeetha and their son Jason Sanjay have also departed for Malaysia. However, there is growing curiosity about whether they will make a public appearance at the audio launch. For several years, rumors have circulated regarding tensions in Vijay and Sangeetha’s relationship. If Sangeetha, along with their children Jason Sanjay and Divya Sasha, attends the event, it would effectively put an end to the ongoing speculation.
