Kannur, Tamil Nadu, India: Tamil superstar Vijay’s political outfit, Tamil Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), has been encountering challenges since its inception. Even before the Kannur Sabha could fully recover from its earlier setback, the party faced yet another surprise.

Vijay’s trusted aide, Selvakumar, has left TVK and officially joined the rival DMK. He cited a lack of respect within TVK and claimed that priority was often given to members who had come from other parties. Selvakumar’s induction into the DMK took place in the presence of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. While Selvakumar did not hold any formal position within TVK, his close association with Vijay makes this development significant. DMK leaders warmly welcomed him, and there are indications that more individuals may follow suit in joining the party.

At present, TVK has not issued any official comment regarding Selvakumar’s departure. However, with the Tamil Nadu assembly elections approaching, political analysts are closely watching the potential implications of Vijay’s close aide shifting allegiance to DMK.
