Contaminated Food in Andhra Pradesh: YS Jagan expressed deep shock over the tragic incident. He highlighted the clear negligence of the government in this matter.
Four students—Joshua, Bhavani, Shraddha, and Nithya—lost their lives after consuming contaminated food at an orphanage in Kailasa town, Kotapuratla Mandal, Anakapalli district, Andhra Pradesh. Many others are currently undergoing treatment in hospitals. Jagan has ordered officials to submit a detailed report on the students' deaths.
AP Minister Nara Lokesh also expressed deep sorrow over the incident. Health Minister Sathyakumar, along with Nakapalli and Alluri Seetharama Raju, has been in contact with the district collectors regarding the situation. Lokesh directed officials to ensure the best possible treatment for the 17 students receiving care at Anakapalli Area Hospital. He assured that the government stands with the families of the deceased and urged authorities to be vigilant to prevent such incidents in the future.
Jagan emphasized that this incident clearly demonstrates the government's lack of proper monitoring. He demanded that quality medical care be provided to the surviving students and support be extended to the bereaved families. He also urged an end to false propaganda and a renewed focus on system improvements to prevent the recurrence of such tragedies.
